CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS 2007 through September

HWF has funded the Hapu Q’ero Tribe and the Ayllus Association of Cuzco for:
  • purchase, improvements, and furnishings for Ocongate Cultural and Health Center
  • food for the elderly 6 months
  • trainings and materials for 80 weavers in use of plant dyes and refinements
  • monthly trainings in health care based on available plant medicines
  • monthly health campaigns for indigenous villages
  • trainings and seeds for improvements in food production
HWF has also provided
  • prenatal vitamins for rural pregnant and lactating mothers
  • support for weaving projects for Hapu-Q’ero village
  • educational materials for Hapu school
  • materials for health care education for 30 villages
  • food and cooking utensils for Hapu-Q’ero village
  • health care services for rural villages
  • materials for Q’ero Memory Project
  • alpacas for Hapu-Q’ero village
  • warm clothing, baby clothes, and blankets
  • carpentry and other tools for Ocongate Culture and Health Center
  • native seeds and other agricultural materials
  • legal fees to obtain title for Ocongate Cultural and Health Center

food for 15 elderly for one year
24 alpacas: one for each sponsored child
school supplies for village school
blankets, mattresses and supplies for community center
$2500 invested in micro-enterprise for all families in village
food for all families in Q’ero village: salt, cooking oil, rice, oats, quinoa
purchase of natural dye for training in weaving improvement
knife sharpeners for 75 families
toenail clippers for 75 families
fingernail clippers for 75 families
baby and children’s warm clothing for 75 families
adult warm clothing for all families
for the community: cooking pots, utensils, bottled gas, honey
5 milk cows to be shared by 15 families
prenatal vitamins, children’s vitamins, and parasite treatments
6 cassette tape recorders with extra batteries to record elders
48 cassette tapes for recording project
tents and sleeping bags for overnight agriculture events
warm leggings for all the women and teen girls

150 pocket knives, one for each adult
leather work gloves for 75 families
pick-axes for 75 families
pry-bars for agriculture for 75 families
ropes and tarps
tents and sleeping bags for overnight agriculture events
6 soccer balls
1 km vicuna fencing 10 feet high
