Closing the Year in Gratitude

Corazones Caminantes, our Peruvian team on the ground, sends you love and cheer from Q’eros.

As 2025 comes to a close, we celebrate how far your love has traveled. You have sent prosperity and hope to the Q’ero people in the form of running water, composting toilets, and solar showers. This year has brought unimaginable abundance for the people of Hapu, Ccochamarca, and Yanaruma, and we look forward to bringing the same blessings to the community of Quico in the year to come.

Each year at Christmastime, Bertha and her team deliver a holiday Chocolatada, a Peruvian tradition honoring children with hot chocolate, sweet bread, and gifts. This year’s Chocolatada was celebrated in full spirit.

The Chocolatada is Bertha’s favorite end of year mission.

A spiced chocolate drink made with condensed milk, farina, and sugar is heated in large pots over a fire.
